Southern Synergies Exhibition

Southern Synergies brings together ceramic work from students and educators at colleges and universities across the Southeast. Expanding beyond Alabama, the exhibition celebrates creativity, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among emerging artists and educators throughout the region.

The K–12 Exhibition celebrates the creativity and talent of young ceramic artists from schools and arts programs across Alabama. Featuring work by students in kindergarten through 12th grade, the exhibition highlights the importance of arts education and provides an opportunity for emerging artists to share their work with the broader clay community.

Participant Exhibition

All conference attendees are invited to showcase one piece of their ceramic work in the Participant Exhibition. Artwork may be offered for sale, with transactions handled through the Alabama Clay Market. ALVAN retains 30% of sales to support the Alabama Clay Conference.

Dinnerware Exhibition

This invitational exhibition, To Set the Table-Two, at the Center for Cultural Arts showcases the work of 25 ceramic artists, each bringing a distinctive style and creative approach to functional dinnerware. Featuring individual table settings and unique ceramic pieces, the exhibition celebrates the artistry of everyday objects.

New to the ALCC for 2027: “Handheld”, a participant only exhibition. Make a sculptural or functional ceramic piece(s) which must measure under 6” x 3” x 3” and fit inside a closed, large cone box. This show is modeled after the exhibition that was called “The Cone Box Show” held for years at NCECA. You may make more than one piece. They will be on display during the conference in the Civic Center.
